Lithium
When Kay was prescribed lithium, it had only recently been approved for use in mania. Even though she says it took away her depressive emotion, it came with many harmful side effects. Although it helped her, i don't think being put on the lithium was a good decision. Without the lithium, she was depressed, but with it, she was walking into walls and being misinterpreted as being drunk. The lithium also proved to only be a temporary fix. When Kay would go off the drug her disorder would come back. I wish Kay had another option aside from lithium because it just seemed to make things worsen.

I agree with you on the Lithium. Lets but ourselves in Kay's shoes if your walking around with depression and not able to function everyday, I think
I would try anything to help me. I truly believe Kay was worse without the drug and everything needs time to work.
I agree. Putting her on it might have helped her depression but the side effects weren't something anyone could easily deal with. She became addicted to her medication and it wasn't as helpful to her depression as she thought it would be.
